We recognized that cat customers want a brand of their own, the brand Rad Cat was a leader in the raw cat food category, and the name still holds a special place for many raw feeders today.
Tucker’s acquired the trademark for Rad Cat. We did not acquire the former company or formulas; however, we did take inspiration from them.
Our Rad Cat is a modernized formula for cats that follows our 95/5 carnivore nutritional philosophy, while introducing new innovative ways to feed raw or gently cooked.
-
Totally! You can serve it raw, or you can warm it or gently cook it at home.
-
Yes, Rad Cat is processed using high pressure processing (HPP). In being a USDA facility, we use HPP as we are required to follow human food processing standards for proteins with higher pathogen risks.
-
Absolutely but it will vary by retailer. Please check with your local retailer for details.

Brewer’s yeast offers several potential health benefits for cats. Brewer’s yeast is loaded with B vitamins, such as B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), and B3 (niacin). These vitamins help support energy levels, skin health, and overall metabolism. The nutrients in brewer’s yeast may promote a shinier, healthier coat and reduce shedding. Some pet owners claim that brewer’s yeast can help repel fleas, though scientific evidence on this is limited. The theory is the yeast’s odor, undetectable to humans, may deter fleas from biting your cat. Brewer’s yeast contains prebiotics, which can support gut health and improve digestion in some cats. Our brewer’s yeast is all natural, and is grain free, gluten free, GMO free, and iodine free. It’s totally rad.

Miscanthus grass is a natural, sustainable beneficial source of fiber for cats, promoting healthy digestion, regular bowel movements, and helping to prevent gnarly hairballs. It is a natural, non-GMO option that supports overall digestive health in cats.
-
Eggs are a tasty source of protein for cats, which is essential for their overall health and well-being. Eggs are also rich in vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin A, vitamin D, and selenium, which can help support a cat’s immune system and promote healthy skin and coat.
-
Yes! They contain menhaden fish oil, which is a high‑quality, sustainable fish oil supplement, rich in omega‑3fattyacids, including DPA, EPA, and DHA. Sourced from menhaden fish (also called mossbunker) that feed on plankton. Menhaden are small fish that are one of the richest marine sources of omega-3. These foragers are wild caught in the Atlantic Ocean, Chesapeake Bay, and on the Gulf Coast.
-
Yes! While our formulas do contain brewer’s yeast, it is grain free and gluten free.

While most of the nutrition is naturally occurring in our diets, we choose to add a vitamin premix to ensure we are meeting AAFCO requirements. The vitamin premix is chelated and designed to be highly bioavailable and effectively absorbed by cats. It is a custom mix developed specifically for our diets and is slightly less than 0.1% of our formulas. To put this in perspective, we add just 2lbs of this vitamin premix for every one ton (2,000 pounds) of food that we make. Using a vitamin premix also allows us to keep our diets a 95/5 (95% meat and organ with 5% supplemental ingredients like miscanthus grass, dried whole egg, brewer’s yeast, and menhaden oil).
-
All our raw frozen cat formulas contain calcium iodate.
-
Our raw frozen diets have a high moisture content between 66%-70% depending on the formula, which is important for keeping cats hydrated. When it comes to finding a food for a pet with medical issues, we always recommend consulting with your veterinarian!

We do not recommend feeding cat food to a dog or vice versa long-term as they have different biological and nutritional needs and our cat formulas will not offer complete and balanced nutrition for a dog. Technically, you can have a formula that meets the needs for dogs and cats, but then you end up over supplementing one of the two animals. For our cat formulas, the vitamins and minerals are different, and the taurine levels are different. The bone content is different as well. Because cats are more prone to crystals, we reduced the bone content in the cat diets.
